The Sbarro franchising concept requires a strong personal commitment to the business and an active involvement in restaurant operation by its franchisees. Approval is based on overall experience, financial qualifications and a proven track record of success.

What is the profile of Sbarro's Franchisees?
You must be a high-energy person who is motivated to serve others, communicates effectively, and have a successful track record in business management at the level required to operate a high-volume Sbarro. You must also be able to set the pace in a fast-moving environment, and do so for long periods of time. Prior restaurant experience is a plus.

What are the required demographics for a Sbarro Franchise?
Pre-entry site evaluation will examine the demographics for a prospective Sbarro site, and assist you in your successful entry. In general, site requirements include a populated area with a large number of people within a
5-mile radius and high traffic counts.

What is involved in the application and approval process?
During the application and approval process, you will visit our corporate headquarters in Melville, New York for interviews and an evaluation. Prior to the opening of your restaurant or concession, qualified applicants will have to complete a training program at Sbarro corporate headquarters or our Regional Training Center.

How long does it take to become a Sbarro Franchisee?
Our Franchise selection process is quite thorough and is designed to ensure that both Sbarro and the prospective franchisee have made an informed business decision before entering into a contract. Therefore, the process to open a Sbarro franchise can vary from applicant to applicant.

What type of investment will I be required to make?
Sbarro's equipment package ranges from $50,000 - $150,000.
Opening Inventory - $2,500-$5,000
Training Expenses - $1,500-$3,000
Start-up Advertising Fund - $1,000-5,000
Construction costs vary depending on the size of the site.

How much money will I be required to have?
Sbarro requires a minimum net worth of $300,000 with liquidity of $150,000 for domestic single unit development. This number will be adjusted upward depending on the number of restaurants to be developed.

Does Sbarro offer financing for me?
No. However, we can refer you to third party financial institutions.
