COLUMBUS, Ohio, July 16, 2019 — Sbarro, known for its XL New York pizza-by-the-slice, recently opened its third restaurant in the Montevideo region of Uruguay.
The newest location is in Portones Shopping Center, one of the region’s largest shopping centers, and is centrally located among premier regional and international retail brands.
“We are excited to be expanding the Sbarro footprint in Uruguay,” said Sbarro Franchisee Armando Torres. “Since our first restaurant opening in the region in 2017, we have been able to provide consumers in the market with what they crave—unique foods that are not only made with the highest quality ingredients—but are reasonably priced and served quickly. While we have been strategic in our approach to our site selections, the Montevideo citizens have readily embraced not only taste of the food, but the convenience of pizza-by-the-slice.”
Founded in 1956, Sbarro is one of the oldest quick-serve restaurant chains in the world, and is known for its Original NY XL pizza, strombolis, and Italian pasta dishes.
